HGTV Design Star is an American reality TV program which puts interior designers to the test. It is hosted by Clive Pearse.

Each week the contestants participate in challenges to test their design skills. These challenges might include designing a living space, or creating space in an empty room for a specified kind of store. The participants are given a set time and budget to complete each project.

The designers are judged by a celebrity panel featuring Vern Yip of Deserving Design, fashion and homewares designer Cynthia Rowley, and InStyle executive editor Martha McCulley.

Each week the weakest contestant is eliminated. The last one standing wins their own design show to air on HGTV.

HGTV Design Star began screening in 2006.

The channel allows fans to watch full one-hour episodes from the current season and the previous ones. Each episode is divided into bite-sized chunks to make playback quick and smooth. Users can click on the "More Videos" button at the top of the video player to access other parts of the same episode. They can also choose other episodes from the same season using the images to the left of the player.

Controls underneath the video player allow browsers to control the video playback by adjusting the volume, pausing and playing the clip, and toggling between regular and full screen mode. The search bar underneath the player allows users to search for other videos that may interest them.
