Today’s Newsday talks about the Jets making a coaching change this offseason, simply throwing out there that the team should make a run at former Steelers coach Bill Cowher. The Jets will have an interesting offseason should it end on Sunday at home to their former QB in Chad Pennington.

The New York Jets say former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher is not interested in becoming the Jets' coach next season.
A Jets spokesman said representatives for Cowher had informed the NFL franchise that the former Steelers coach should not be considered a candidate for the Jets' head coach vacancy, Newsday said Wednesday.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher, who rejected a chance to become head coach of the Browns over the weekend, is not going to interview for the head coaching position of the New York Jets, according to multiple sources. Cowher, according to a source, has been contacted by the Jets. Although he is interested in the Jets job, he told them he won’t be a candidate because he would like to have the ability to bring in his own personnel person.
