The University of Arkansas football team held its Thursday practice inside Walker Pavilion as it continued preparation for Saturday’s SEC matchup with South Carolina.
Head coach Bobby Petrino talked about how the week of practice went for his team.
“We’ve had good practices,” Coach Petrino said. “We’ve had good focus and what’s important now is that we need to continue to get better from now until kickoff. We need to do a good job in our meetings, our walk through and come out physical. I think that’s the key to the game for us.”
Coach Petrino went on to say that the weekly preparation hasn’t changed from previous weeks and the magnitude of the game does not affect the type of practice a team has.
“This is the exact same schedule we have every year at this time,” Coach Petrino said. “It’s the same practice schedule, same amount of time we spend on inside runs and teamwork. Group work is the same and our defense has been very excited. They have a lot of energy. They’ve been flying around on the field and I’ve been really happy with that.”
