Dan Fitzgerald Gonzaga Dies

Dan Fitzgerald, the college basketball coach widely credited with transforming Gonzaga into a national basketball powerhouse, passed away on January 19, 2010, at the age of 67. Fitzgerald had collapsed on Tuesday evening while dining at a restaurant in Airway Heights, for reasons that have not yet been disclosed.
