Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips returned to the practice field Wednesday, two weeks after undergoing kidney and gall bladder surgery.
Phillips went on medical leave Dec. 14. Linebackers coach Reggie Herring ran the defense in his absence, and the Texans lost their next two games.

According to Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak, wide receiver Andre Johnson participated in practice on Monday.
“He did practice today. We came inside because of the weather, but he did participate in practice and our expectations are for him to be back on the field on Wednesday, so we’ll see how it goes.”
