Former Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren's flirtation with the Browns dragged on Wednesday with little word from either side. Holmgren spent two days talking with the Browns about assuming control of their football operations, but hasn't decided if Cleveland will be his next NFL stop.

Former Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers coach Mike Holmgren is discussing joining the Cleveland Browns as the team's director of football operations, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.

The Cleveland Browns could get word from Mike Holmgren on the radio. The Super Bowl-winning coach is scheduled to appear on Seattle's KJR on Friday, when he may announce his future plans. Holmgren spent two days meeting with Cleveland owner Randy Lerner.  

While he’s still available, Mike Shanahan may be the best alternative to Mike Holmgren on the market. Unfortunately, the Seahawks may have to act soon, as Shanahan is apparently interested in the Washington Redskins coaching job.
