According to Billboard the dates for Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival have been confirmed for April 17-19, 2009. Per Billboard: "Coachella remains the premier American festival event of the year for alternative music lovers. The event has become renowned for reuniting or featuring cult favorite bands that hadn't played in the United States in years, such as Portishead, Rage Against The Machine, Daft Punk and Kraftwerk." Gogol Bordello, the part Ukrainian, party New York gypsy punk band set things off at sunset on the main stage with a bang. If you haven’t heard this band, they’re like the Clash but with a fiddle and an accordion, and singing in broken English. Sometimes you feel like they’re going to go into a metal song, then a funk song then something else unexplainable, but it’s always this manic gypsy-themed sound that makes you want to drink vodka and break something.
