Known mostly for its music and last minute surprise headliner additions, Coachella fosters a pretty rich visual arts community. Phil Blain, the show’s curator and someone we’ll likely interview more in depth down the road, has amassed an incredible collection of installments this year. Here are some pictures of them going up before the crowds arrive on Friday.

Oh yeah, and this is where the other "art" happens. This is the main stage where Prince will rock on Saturday. Tomorrow there will be 100,000 people running around here.
