We were going to run this report on Examiner.com for National Liqueur Month (October), but didn’t have the necessary “Liqueur” to qualify for that category. And since it’s now National Pomegranate Month (November) and I received POM Wonderful’s New Pomegranate Nectarine and Pomegranate Kiwi the very same day we planned this drink comparison, we substituted it in place of the Liqueur. Need another hot drink for cold days and nights?  Here is a derivation of a post from the other day-- the Hot Rum Toddy.  Prep time is under five minutes. Here's what you need: 2 oz. of light or dark rum 1 cube of sugar 2-3 oz. of boiling water 1 lemon slice Fresh ground nutmeg Here's what to do: Dissolve sugar with hot water in Irish coffee mug Stir in rum Top with lemon slice and nutmeg Enjoy. My dad is a grouchy old man, and as much as I shouldn't be encouraging him I would like to make him an old-fashioned cocktail kit for Christmas.
