Wayne Rooney stunned his fans by sporting a rather different pair of eyebrows on Sunday, prompting speculation that his wife, Coleen, has had yet more influence in the striker’s grooming routine.

His wife Coleen, who is known for enjoying a pampering session or two, may have been the one to persuade the footballer to take a seat in the beautician’s chair.

The star’s facial feature must have been fairly noticeable as it soon became a talking point of social networking site Twitter.

“Has Rooney had his eyebrows plucked?” the Daily Mail quoted one person as tweeting.

“Wayne Rooney’s eyebrows are scary,” another said.

The father-of-one was even sporting the tell-tale signs of having his eyebrows threaded or waxed as the surrounding areas looked a little red.

The 26-year-old player showed off his new look at a football match against Chelsea.
