An autograph auction at Colwyn Bay, North Wales was estimated to bring in £200-£300. The collection went for £3,500. The auction included some of the most popular performers of the 1960s. The autographs were collected by John Rees during the time that he worked on Thank Your Lucky Stars . He used the autographs as payment on his account at a delicatessen near the studio. Is Autographed Sports Memorabilia A Waste of Money? I saw an article the other day claiming that sports memorabilia is one of the top 10 biggest wastes of money. Chris Pummer, who wrote the article claims that, "This market for the celebrity struck may be the greatest separator of fools and their money ever." He lists premium coffee to go and cigarettes as a few other "biggest wastes of money."
