Bird of Paradise - Thanks to the Sandiegozoo.org Yesterday I wrote about items that represented birds that could make you money, but today I will mention one bird that can help you fill your nest. The Birds of Paradise has often been said to be the most beautiful birds that God ever created and that may very well be true. With their array of colored feathers and long tails, they are a sight to behold. These magnificent birds are found in Indonesia , New Guinea and Australia and when... Read Full Story
Picasso Yesterday, as I sat at the computer and watched the snow fall, I began to think about geese in their patterns heading south. Then I realized that I had never written a blog on birds and I asked myself, why not? Items that represent birds or images of birds command tremendously high prices and you can capitalize on this if you are aware of where the real values are. I believe that I could write several blogs on birds and still not fully share with you all the opportunities there are... Read Full Story
He's the Man - Thanks to Anotherprint.com Just a little over two weeks ago I was in sunny Florida watching the dolphins and eating all the oysters on the half shell that I could find. I was walking miles on the sand with Vickie, my wife and Josh, my son, picking up shells thinking about what would be next for the “Daryle Lambert's Antique and Collectibles Club.” My how things have changed now that I have returned to Chicago . Sitting at the computer yesterday and staring out the window, to... Read Full Story
We All Need A Hand Sometime - Thanks to Blog.Empas.com There is something to be said for determination and when there seemed to be no end in sight for the difficulties of fulfilling my vision for the “Daryle Lambert's Antique and Collectibles Club”, I continued to hear the small voice inside that said “Don't you quit”. When individual after individual left us in a lurch, the well being of our members stood paramount in my decision to continue the pursuit for success. We now have completed... Read Full Story
Fiestaware - Than ks to Flicker.com Every year I write a “What's Hot and What's Not Hot” list for the members of the Daryle Lambert's Antique and Collectibles Club. I do these lists to share with the members of the club my knowledge of the future trends in the markets we follow. My hope is that the knowledge will help our members find more treasures over the future years. I have to admit that it had been quite some time since I last went over my list for this year, but as I did, it became... Read Full Story
Lenox Christmas Plate - Thanks to oritomo.co.jp I have been saying that “Collector Plates” were the worst buy out there for the last 20 years and I put them on my don't buy list for the last two. I have been right all this time but now this may be changing. Over the last few years at house and garage sales, I have seen groups of 25 to 50 plates sell for one dollar or less apiece. I had no interest in reselling these for two dollars each because I thought my time was worth more than what it... Read Full Story
Does He Have Your Present? There isn't much time left before it will be too late to help someone fill their Christmas wish. If you put that special gift on eBay this week, the buyers can still receive it before Christmas. It is about now when everyone starts to panic about what they are going to give that special person. Yes, there are people that are responsible but I find that many are just like me and put their shopping off to the last minute. Look through your inventory and see what... Read Full Story
Steve McQueen - Thanks to Flicker I have loved cars ever since I was given my first one, a 1955 Chevy. Through the years I have owned Corvettes, MG TD's, Studebaker Golden Hawks, Thunderbirds and one of my favorites, a Mazda. People that love cars may not be able to own the actual cars but to deal in automobile memorabilia can be just as satisfying. We have talked about the expensive hood ornaments, hub caps and toy cars but there is another area that can be quite profitable and that is... Read Full Story
Let the Fun start now - Thanks to Flicker.com I remember my first car, a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air two door hardtop. Being a junior in high school and driving this car to school, at that time was the greatest thing in my life. In fact I was one of the few students that had a car back then and after taking hand me downs all my life, I felt rather special. Dad had done very well in the oil fields around our area and for the first time in my life I felt equal to the other kids that I ran around... Read Full Story
Lladro Boy, did I spend a great thanksgiving at a church friend's house yesterday. The food was fit for a king but what I want to talk to you about is the Lladro collection I saw. It was out of this world, with some pieces three feet long and containing as many as fifteen characters. Many of these limited edition pieces list for $50,000 or more. I have to admit that with fifteen children running through the house it made me very nervous. But the question is have these wonderful people made a... Read Full Story
