Prior to becoming a Grad Assist, I worked in the Office of Admissions for a good 2-3 years as a campus tour guide.
I believe that first impressions really do count. I loved giving the tours, as it was an opportunity for me to play a part in prospective students decisions. I still remember my tour and my tour guide at Lynn. Very often, I will walk past someone on campus, or meet someone, and they’ll say: “hey, you were my tour guide when I first came to Lynn”. OK. So what I'm hearing from responses from the last post and several others is the sentiment: DON'T LEAVE COLLEGE. Everyone wishes they were still there. After reading the advice everyone left for me, a lot of things sunk in. Trying to make college 'the best years of my life' shouldn't be a burden but rather an exciting realization that it's a completely unique time in my life. BOCA RATON - Police were searching the Florida Atlantic University campus this morning looking for a gunman who fired two shots during an on-campus party overnight.
One person -- who is not a student at the school -- was injured slight in the shooting at the University Village Apartments. It was not clear if the person was actually hit by a bullet, officials said.
