Collette Dinnigan is one of the most feminine collections ever introduced for 2012. It based on short and long dresses of both styles; the classic and casual, but the designer focused much on the classic style to show a couture-like collection in the form of resort. Most of the designs were made of soft fabrics like satin and silk, which were the main theme for the evening were of this brand. They were also used much in the long dresses that came in many light, occasional colors. Not only did the long dresses express a couture style. The short close-to-body ones could do the same. Floral prints all over the short day dresses could show a feminine style, while the beaded effects and ruffling within the evening dresses gave an elegant look. The ruffled pieces within a short, tight dress were layered to give a drapey and ruffling effect at the same time. They were also layered in different matching colors that varied between grades of orange and beige to give a striped look. The introduced short dresses came of different lengths to provide the fans a good change within the look and a free movement as well. There were knee length dresses, mini dresses, short thigh-high sequined dresses, under knee dresses and maxis. Some details were made to distinguish between the short dresses of all lengths; such as the drapey effects, the ruffling effects, the waist straps and leather belts, the amber line and the plisse.
