Many of you might well have heard of silver colloids previously, and some might have even used it. Other people might have heard about it but have no clue of what the
term truly means and how it works. As it turns out, silver colloids are pretty useful mixtures which are widely used in laboratories worldwide.
Colloidal SilverThe nineties were when the concept of colloidal silver first came into use. This expression describes a special fluid combination that contains silver nanoparticles at a
rate of over 1/2. Ever since then, many companies said that they're producing colloidal silver, despite the fact that there was not a laboratory test to show how much
silver was integrated in the products. Despite the fact that there are lots of firms that advertise silver colloids, the goods they're actually marketing might be totally and
completely distinct.
Thus, how can you tell if a product is a real colloid or not?
All you need to do is follow a number of hints that can notify you if the product has over 1/2 of silver content. Firstly, you can instantly tell that the solution is not colloidal
silver when it is colourless. Actual silver colloids must have a colour resembling amber. This is because the silver particles use distinct wavelengths of natural light to
absorb energy. It makes sense that the stronger amber a liquid it seems to be, the greater the amount of silver nanoparticles it contains and the purer the mixture will be.
Another sure fire method of recognising when a solution isn't true silver colloid is if it has been labelled by the manufacturers as "mild silver protein" or "silver protein".
The dimensions of silver particles shows the distinction between silver colloids and these kinds of solutions - in truth, a silver particle is many times smaller than a silver
protein. Obviously there are lots of other tests which show if your solution is real colloidal silver or not, yet as is so frequently the way with science, such tests are not at
all simple to execute outside of a research laboratory.
A quite frustrating fact is that even the individual colloidal silver mixtures are different and have various different properties. So, working with silver colloids is not simple in
any way. The concentration of silver nanoparticles varies from one colloid to another, but a variety of solutions can be utilized in various applications. It's for this reason
that if you would like to buy silver colloids, it is important that you use a skilled producer of colloids who knows exactly how to engineer the perfect solution for your
intended goal.Thousands of years, before scientists and doctors understood what microbes were and how they cause illness, the health benefits of colloidal metals,
particularly silver were suspected. The famous Greek physician, Hippocrates (who is considered by many as the father of modern medicine), wrote that silver could
prevent disease and had the special healing properties. Consequently, the Ancient Greeks and Romans used silver utensils as well as silver urns to keep water and
other liquids fresh. Ancient Egyptian writings indicate that they used silver too; as did the ancient Chinese who's emperors ate with silver chopsticks.
During the Middle Ages wealthy families gave their children silver spoons to suck on as protection from the horrific plagues that ravished Europe; hence the expression,
"born with a silver spoon in his mouth". To this day, people still refer to, "getting their best silverware out", for special occasions Early American pioneers dropped silver
coins into their wells and water barrels to keep the water safe. Likewise, settlers in the Australian outback suspended silverware in their water tanks. Dairy farmers often
used silver milk pails to keep the milk from spoiling.
Silver sol is clear silver particles dispersed in purified water. The "sol" is a chemical designation of a pure mineral permanently suspended is water where the mineral's
charge is transferred to the entire body of water. Solutions made with metallic silver are tested to be more potent than other silver preparations, such as those made with
ionic silver. While these can be effective solutions, I prefer the new silver technology called silver sol, also called silver aqua sol technology.
