My friend owns a Compaq Presario C571NR and he recently had a pesky problem. He kept getting BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). He got it during start up, during the login screen on vista, during the loading after login, during normal usage and much more…

So this is what he has tried,

• Restored an earlier image

• Went through recovery proccess

• Done a harddrive test, both passed.

• Called in techinical support to get recovery discs

• Recovered Computer with recovery discs

After ALL those tries, he still got BSOD very commonly. So he called in to HP and ended up sending the laptop in to fix. Within 4 days, he got the laptop back and read the summary of the maintenance. His heatsink was changed and his computer is fine now.

Hopefully this might be help anyone who has the same problem. Just call in to HP or your laptop brand and have them service it.
