Purported MacBook Pro and iMac benchmarks have surfaced on Geekbench showing the Macs running Intelís next-gen Ivy Bridge processors. Giving a further hint that the specs are indeed for two of Appleís latest Macs, the MacBook Pro carries the model designation 9,1, while the 27-inch iMac carries the designation 13,2. Unconfirmed reports of Apple testing Ivy Bridge-based MacBook Pro prototypes with latest-generation SSD storage may suggest that the company is considering making the faster drives part of the standard configuration of the new machines, which are expected to utilize a super-thin redesign like the MacBook Air and debut sometime in the near future. According to Cult of Mac, Best Buy has cut the online and in-store prices on most of its Mac lineup. One in five Mac computers is likely to carry Windows malware, but only one in 36 is likely to be infected with malware specifically designed for the Mac OS X, according to study performed by antivirus firm Sophos. Sophos collected malware detection statistics from 100,000 Mac computers that run its free antivirus product and found that 20 percent of them contained one or more types of Windows malware.
