gamespot.com - High Voltage Software bringing series to Nintendo's new handheld; build currently "runs pretty darn well with full 3D and everything."

High Voltage Software's Conduit 2 will be released--after a handful of delays--on April 19 exclusively on the Wii. Though the shooter is not on the market yet, the developer is already planning its future…on the 3DS.

Conduit 2 on the Wii, not playable in 3D.

High Voltage's chief creative officer, Eric Nofsinger, told Eurogamer, "Now that we're winding things down [on Conduit 2], a lot of our resources are on pulling this technology over to 3DS."

"We've got environments from this already up and running around. You can shoot, you can select different weapons, and you can see enemies," he said. "It runs pretty darn well with full 3D and everything."

High Voltage is currently looking for a publishing partner for the Conduit 3DS title, which is still in an early phase of development. These efforts come as the studio continues to wrap up the Conduit 2 and after High Voltage laid off 25 employees over the summer.

"I would guess that Sega will be interested," Nofsinger said. "I had a nice conversation just yesterday with their head of artist and repertoire. At DICE, the conference in Vegas that's coming up, we'll probably have some more chats."

The Nintendo 3DS will launch in Europe on March 25 and in North America on March 27, priced at $250. For more on the studio's most recent effort, check out GameSpot's preview of Conduit 2.
