Jeffrey Rush - Son of Congressman Bobby Rush Receives 6 Months in Jail for Having Sex with Inmates

Jeffrey M. Rush, 42, former head of security at Illinois Department of Corrections facility in Aurora, pleaded guilty yesterday to having sexual relations with female inmates.
Rush, son of U.S. Member of Congress, Bobby Rush, was sentenced to 180 days at Kane County jail and three years’ probation.
Rush who originally had 47 charges filed against him, only admitted guilt to three counts of official misconduct. In one of the instances, he offered the inmate a ride home.
Rush, who was fired Sept. 10, drove a state-issued vehicle to transport one of the women and authorized more release time for another inmate so the two could meet outside the correctional facility, according to the indictment. SOURCE
According to Abby Ottenhoff, a spokeswoman for Gov. Rod Blagojevich, Bobby Rush recommended that state officials hire his son in 2003.
I’m sure his father is ‘quite proud’ that his son has gone out and embarrassed him like this.
