DALLAS (AP) — Longtime U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson has beaten two challengers for the Democratic nomination in her Dallas-area district. The 76-year-old Johnson defeated Barbara Mallory Caraway and Taj Clayton in Congressional District 30.  

AUSTIN — U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson easily survived a rare primary challenge Tuesday, beating two Democratic challengers who tried ousting one of the longest-serving black members of Congress with the message that she had been in Washington too long.
