A congressman has extended an invitation to baseball star Alex Rodriguez to discuss steroids — to an anti-drug group in Maryland. Maryland Democrat Elijah Cummings wrote a letter to the New York Yankees slugger this week, asking him to attend the "Powered by ME!" conference in April. Cummings is a senior member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which heard from pitcher Roger Clemens on steroids last year. Rodriguez admitted Monday that he used banned drugs from 2001-2003 while playing for the Texas Rangers. Democratic Representative Elijah Cummings of Maryland has the courage to call for the resignation of AIG’s CEO Edward Liddy, not just offer him a slap on the hand.
