Ted Nugent on the Pledge to America: Republicans Need to Take the Ted Pledge

By Clay on  From bungalowbillscw.blogspot.com
Ted Nugent has some comments about the Pledge To America. Apparently it doesn't go far enough for the Nuge either. Apparently Nugent isn't impressed to rolling back to Nancy Pelosi's 2008 either, like our little chubby buddy Billy Long is. Here's his thoughts:The Republican "Pledge to America" is a step in the right direction, but we should never settle for simply better. We always should demand much better. A return to excellence would be nice, wouldn't it?Compared to the bloated...Read Full Story

The House GOP’s Trifecta of Crazy: Reps. Louie Gohmert, Michelle Bachmann, and Steve King (Jonathan Ernst /Reuters) The GOP has lots of crazy in the House, but Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert is probably the craziest of all (as much as Michelle Bachmann and Steve King might beg to differ). Louie Gohmert – Republican Idiot At Large

By Mario Piperni on  From mariopiperni.com
Bachmann, Boehner, Cantor, McConnell, Cain…the list is endless.  But a winner we must choose and, in truth, it was an easy pick. Louie Gohmert, the Republican Rep. from Texas, takes the idiot prize for suggesting that President Obama chose August 2nd as the date when the U.S. would default on its payments if the debt ceiling was not raised because…get ready for this…because the President is having a birthday party on August 3rd (he turns 50 on the 4th) and having the issue settled by then...Read Full Story
Louie Gohmert Speaking U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert (TX-01)

Representative Louie Gohmert was first sworn in January 4, 2005 by Speaker Dennis Hastert as Congressman for the First District of Texas.

Louie Gohmert received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, where he was Class President and served as a Brigade Commander of the Corps of Cadets. Louie was also Class President while attending Baylor School of Law. He is a veteran having served his country as Captain in the U.S. Army as a result of an Army scholarship at Texas A&M.

Prior to being elected to serve in Congress, Louie Gohmert was elected to three terms as District Judge in Smith County, Texas. During his tenure on the bench, Louie gained national and international attention for some of his innovative rulings. He was later appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to complete a term as Chief Justice of the 12th Court of Appeals.

Now into his second term in the House of Representatives, Rep. Gohmert is assigned to three key House committees which are beneficial to the citizens of east Texas: the House Committees on Judiciary, Resources and Small Business.

Having extensive judicial knowledge stemming from years in the court room, Rep. Gohmert is the only former judge on the Judiciary Committee. The Committee has jurisdiction over matters such as: constitutional issues, immigration, the Federal courts, crime, and law enforcement. The Congressman was named Ranking Member of the Judiciary subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security and also returns to the Judiciary subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Claims.

Rep. Gohmert's work within the House Committee on Natural Resources has proved valuable to East Texas with its wide array of natural resources. The Committee seeks to explore our natural resources and Louie works to ensure America uses the affordable, domestic sources of energy we have at home while providing jobs for Texas. He serves as a voice for east Texas on two of the Committee's most important subcommittees: the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources as well as the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands.

Small businesses play a vital role in the economy of east Texas and the United States. Rep. Gohmert uses his assignment to the House Committee on Small Business to ensure small businesses are able to thrive and prosper without excessive federal government red tape. He also serves on the Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight.

Rep. Gohmert and his wife Kathy are the proud parents of three daughters. Their family attends Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, where Louie had been a deacon and still teaches Sunday school.

Having grown up in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, where he was an Eagle Scout, Louie has gone on to be an extremely active volunteer in numerous civic organizations in East Texas.
