I've received several e-mails in the last few days regarding Mark Foley, most contain a rant about Republican's culture of perversion or we will all burn in hell, yet something has struck me as very interesting in this entire ordeal. (Besides the fact I'm receiving e-mails about Foley when I have yet to write about him.)
The fact is, there are a lot of sick perverts in the world, and if the accusations against Foley are true (and by all appearances, they are) then he ranks among the sickest. The question is, knowing there are perverts and criminals about- in DC we'll probably see a higher percentage- what does each party do about it?
It is obvious in the case of Foley, as soon as the news broke, he was GONE!
But what about the Democrat's history? It doesn't take much to find the history of perverts and criminals in the Democrat party, but what is interesting is what happens to these pervs and criminals when exposed?

First, there is the infamous
Gary Studds who was accused of almost an almost identical situation as Foley. What did the Democrats do- they embraced him and helped him keep his seat. He is now considered a hero for 'coming out' with no reflection on the fact he seduced underage staff members (also House Pages, just like Foley).

We can always consider the case of Senator
Barney Frank who had a
prostitution ring running out of his house. Initially he was reprimanded by the Senate, but he is still in the Senate and is considered a leader in the Democrat party. So quick to forgiveness, the Democrats and the media instead focused on how this
'hurt' Frank and how sad he was for these actions.
(..and just for the record, I have no problem with Barney Frank being gay, only running an illegal prostitution ring..)
But the Democrat party is a party of civil rights leaders, and thus, should be forgiven for the actions of Mr. Frank, right? Consider the 'Conscience of the Senate' Robert Byrd.; or as he is commonly known,
Robert KKK Byrd. Former Klansman (Imperial Wizard) whose claim to fame was attempting to
filibuster the 1964 Civil Right's Act, throws around the
'N' word like it is a pronoun.
How about the senior Senator from Massachusetts, the honorable (sic)
Teddy Kennedy who, beyond being accused of
murder is also frequently known to take part along with Democrat Senator Chris Dodd, in making
waitress sandwiches.

Oh, but looking at the Democrat's history, you cannot overlook
President Clinton. The list of sexual harassment, rape, and other scandals is too numerous to list here,
but click here for an A-Z list of Clinton's
most popular scandals.

The list of Democrat sex scandals, perverts, and crime is so extensive, and
entire book is devoted to the subject. So you may ask, what is the difference between the two parties? If one looks at the history of how these scandals, and the players involved, are treated, one does see a major contrast between the two parties.
In the case of Foley- he was kicked to the street faster than he could blink.

In the case of every Democrat listed above, they are either still in office, and/or praised as the pillars of society by their own party.
It is not just how the party treats their perverts and criminals. Contrast how the posters on
FreeRepublic reacted to Foley's accusations versus how the posters on
Democratic Underground treat Robert Byrd.
