A former Indiana state senator who's made several runs for Congress is joining the race for the seat that Republican Mike Pence is giving up to run for governor.

Bill Frazier of Muncie is a retired farmer and businessman and adds to a growing field of Republican candidates for the 6th District seat. The Star Press reports (http://bit.ly/r7yM1F ) that Frazier advocates cutting corporate tax rates by at least 25 percent and abolishing the Internal Revenue Service.

Frazier was the Republican nominee for a Muncie-area district four times between 1976 and 1992. His last bid for Congress was in 2000, when ran as an independent against Pence.

Former state Rep. Luke Messer of Shelbyville and Columbus real-estate investor Travis Hankins are previous Republican congressional candidates among those seeking their party's nomination.
