Mr. Smith Award, Honoring Rep. Ted Poe of Texas, by Steve Farrell
The Moral Liberal’s next Mr. Smith Award goes to Representative Ted Poe of Texas (R) (see video below) for his spirited, on target defense of the Constitution against the wacko anti-American, anti-free enterprise, pro-China, E.P.A., and its ban (2014) of Thomas Edison’s great invention: the incandescent light bulb.
It amazes and concerns The Moral Liberal that we’ve come this far. But thank goodness for those few who in the spirit of “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” do indeed go to Washington and fight back.
It gives America hope. It inspires us to never give up or give in.
Now, please click on the video below and watch Rep. Ted Poe tell it like it is, and then thank him. Meanwhile, contact your Congressmen and respectfully, but forthrightly tell him or her like-it-is about your desire to protect our freedom to use safe, environmentally friendly, incandescent light-bulbs.
And this too: ask him or her if it’s finally time shut down the unconstitutional EPA, and turn over environmental protection to the states and the people where it belongs … where abuses of power, if they come, can easily be checked.
Centralized power, with the exception of the few areas the American Founders defined for it, is rarely a good idea, and almost always, a very bad one.
