Remember the Vito Fossella downfall?  Fossella is the New York 13th Congressional District’s Representative who was arrested for DUI in Virginia and for some reason during that arrest confessed that he had a three year old out of wedlock child that he was on his way to visit.  Having found a sense of morality and seeking repentance, Vito Fossella announced, perhaps as an act of contrition, that he would not seek re-election.  And, Fossella almost faded from national view. The Staten Island Advance reports that the decision of local GOP leaders to endorse “a relatively unknown former Wall Street financier in the race to replace disgraced GOP Rep. Okay, so it’s the law.  The House Ethics Committee is required to investigate any House member who is arrested…. and that includes Vito Fossella.  The Committee will not begin the investigation until after Fossella’s case is in court on June 26th.  In all probability Fossella will be sentenced to five days in jail. Congressman Vito Fossella (R-NY) announced he will not seek reelection. He is now the 30th member of the GOP caucus to announce he will not seek reelection from the House. Fossella was already in trouble for getting a DWI and as it turns out he fathered a baby girl with a woman - that is not his wife.
