It's hard to deny the positive effects of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), more commonly known as the "stimulus package", when projects in a congressional district create jobs and, when completed, provide some benefit to the community. I just received an e-mail from Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers announcing with enthusiastic excitement the federal Transportation Department’s granting of the state of Washington’s request for federal financial assistance, to the tune of $35 million. McMorris Rodgers’ e-mail gushed about her “long-standing support” of the freeway project and complained that prior federal contributions (under the prior Republican administration) had been...  

I had an opportunity to be included on a conference call which began at 4:30 pm today with Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-GA) and Congresswoman Cathy McMorris.  

U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers voted against stimulus money to fund more North Spokane Corridor (and hundreds of badly needed new jobs in Spokane) even though she says she has for years wanted more such funding.
