Just as I was getting set for bed the Twitterverse started going a little nuts with word Senator Christopher Dodd will announce he's not running for reelection to his Senate seat. The announcement, if true, is a shocker even though I've been telling anyone who'd listen he was unelectable.
Unelectable candidates run all the time. They lose. I assume he figured that out.
He's run and won six times. Thirty years in the Senate. Quite a record. Alas, here in Connecticut the bloom is off the... Read Full Story

DODD'S REFORM PLAN
Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.), head of the Banking Committee, staked out a tough position on Nov. 10 when he unveiled his 1,136-page financial reform package. It would combine banking regulation into a single new agency, stripping the Fed of some powers and handing oversight of "systemically risky" institutions to a panel of regulators. Other ideas, including derivatives reform and a consumer protection agency, resemble those in pending House legislation. The... Read Full Story
BOSTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama's Democratic Party, which lost two state governorships last week, drew hope for winning the governor's office in Connecticut next year after the Republican incumbent said she would not run for re-election. Jodi Rell, in office since 2004, said on Monday she would not seek another term, setting the stage for a wide-open contest between a field of Democrats led by Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz and Republicans including Rell's No. 2, Michael Fedele... Joe jamming up the health care pipes (Hartford Courant)
Let me say something slightly radical: yes, we need health care reform, but do we need it that bad that we’re willing to get down on bended knee to shine Joe Lieberman’s dirty shoes for it? Why can’t Democrats walk away from the deal, make a huge stink about it, kick Joe out of the caucus, wait a few years and vote his ass off the island?
I don’t think the American people will hold it against the Democrats to lose health care... Read Full Story
by Eric Dondero Connecticut Multi-Millionaire Ned Lamont is not a United States Senator today. He lost the general election in 2006 badly to Independent-Democrat incumbent Joe Lieberman. Lamont first beat Lieberman in the Democrat primary with massive support, both financial and grass roots, from the Leftwing Blogosphere including Daily Kos. But he went on to lose badly to Blue-Collar Pro-Defense Centrist Joe Lieberman. Could we be seeing the same exact scenario playing out today? Obama is... Read Full Story
It has been announced that Senator Christopher Dodd has been diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer, he will have surgery during the August recess, and will take a brief recovery break. While, I 100% disagree with Senator Dodd's stances, beliefs, etc. and I will be pushing hard for him to lose re-election in 2010, I wish the best to him. So, I now have this question - under the Obama health care package, millions of men will be asked the same thing as the title of this article asks, "are... Read Full Story
