John Milius’s 1984 classic Red Dawn was a paranoid redneck’s best nightmare/dream scenario. Much like I am always hoping one day they’ll be a zombie apocalypse and I can head to the local shopping mall and kill an army of zomboids whilst noting the ironic social-consumerist parallels. You wouldn’t think a Red Dawn remake would annoy anybody. The Russians probably laughed it off since twenty-five years ago, Communism was on the brink of collapse.
