Conrad Black, the former chairman and chief executive of the Hollinger International media company, and two other former executives are urging the justices to hear their case because federal appeals courts around the country are divided on the central issue undergirding their convictions. The federal case against former Hollinger International Inc. Chairman Conrad Black got kicked off this week.  Conrad Black and Peter Atkinson are charged with taking millions of dollars in noncompete payments while also selling $3 billion in Hollinger assets from 1998 to 2001. Former Hollinger General Counsel Mark Kipnis, 59, is also accused of aiding Black and Arkinson. Each man faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted. Read Full Story

After 15 weeks of testimony, the Jury has reported back to the judge that they are deadlocked.  The jury can't come to a concensus decision.  The judge, along with the two legal teams, will now need to decide how to proceed. Read Full Story
