I like everything about this iron. It's the best I've had in a long time-- much better than my previous one, a much pricier Rowenta. I'd like it to get a tiny bit hotter, but I think that's the way all the irons are now. Maybe they used to get too hot! I'd recommend this iron to anyone anytime.

We like the exteded cord feature and the redesigned filling hole. However, we do not like the type of water that must be used. The instructions are very confusing. We use to use distilled water due to the fact we have a water softener, but can't understand the directions as to what type we must use with this new design.

It is such a relief to finally find a great iron! I tried the Black & Decker Digital Advantage and returned it because I had to reset the temperature at least 8 times while trying to iron one shirt! It kept flipping from where I set it (at level 6, cotton, with steam) to level 1. This T-Fal works equally well for right or left handers due to the easy cord system and it glides very smoothly. I iron fast (not because I'm good, but because I'm impatient) and sometimes unintentionally iron in a crease where there shouldn't be one, but this iron takes out those mistakes just as easy as can be. The water reservoir is a nice capacity and there is a feature that lets you set your steam at levels 1 through 3. I set mine at level 2 and ironed 9 shirts in an hour, only refilling it once. There are steam holes on the sole plate all over and not just on the rim which is very helpful.
I was surprised to read that you are to use tap water and NOT distilled water for best results. It is supposed to be cleaned every month but the process does not seem to be too difficult. If it is, I will come back and add to my review.

I own this iron, and recently purchased one for my son after hearing him complain about his shirt laundry bills. Now he is doing his own. Steam is good for taking wrinkles out of anything. It has a good size reservoir that handles a lot of ironing. I am a chronic ironer and very hard to plese. Buy this iron.

My husband bought this iron for me. At first I didn't like it.But it turned out to be an excellent iron. I had Rowenta proffessional before, which lasted only 2,5 years. My Rowenta worked great, got very hot, produced lots of steam, but after the thirst year started leaking and the auto-shut off feature didn't want to turn on the iron.
So I decided to choose cheeper iron. When I received my T-fal, at first I didn't like it, because it is lightweight, I prefer haevier irons, but after 3 hours of ironing ( I iron a lot for the family), it turned out to be not bad at all, actually I would say it is an excellent iron. It doesn't get as hot as Rowenta, but it does get hot enough. It doesn't produce as much steam as Rowenta, but it does produce a lot of steam - enough to do the job. So I would say that for the money T-fal is an excellent iron. I am giving it 4 stars, because I prefer heavier iron.
