Green Mean Steam Weed Killer
It used to be that when we saw a bank of brown weeds, it meant an application of pesticide. Now we won’t have to avoid that little patch of death. Not anymore. This new machine kills the weed by applying high-temperature stream directly to the pest.
Each machine runs on a couple of gallons of water, a 12-volt battery, and a small propane tank. Apparently the direct application of high-temperature stream “explodes the cells” of the offending plant, killing it down to its roots. Whoa. The machines work well on sidewalk intruders that are surrounded by concrete. They will soon be patrolling the streets of San Francisco, annihilating unwanted weeds without the use of pesticides. The City’s Park and Rec Department recently purchased one for every Park Service Area. Created in Canada, these high-tech gardening machines are the first of their kind in the United States.
The Greensteam Weed Eliminator does not require pesticides. The self contained non-toxic weeder uses the power of a 12 volt vehicle battery and clean burning propane. No gasoline engine is involved, and the only electrical source required is for daily charging of the battery. The steam gun, or steam thrower uses a Patented technology which efficiently burns propane within a chamber that is surrounded with coil that transports water. The water is pressurized by a 12 volt pump. The water, now converted to steam exits through nozzles at the bottom gun.
This steam explodes the cells of the targeted vegetation, instantly killing the weed down to its roots.The 3 wheel cart features a rear foot pedal that operates as a brake when going downhill. It will also lock the unit 'in place', preventing it from rolling.The tool is mainly a mechanical device, only using the 12volt battery to power the pump. There is very little maintenance, due to the fact that there are no computer boards or many electrical components. Troubleshooting is a breeze.
