800# for Text and Cellphone Violators
I have made it a mission to report any litter violators via the Washington State litter line. It is amazing how often I see litter being thrown out the window of a car, mostly cigarette butts.
I think we should have the same type of reporting system for people the you see driving down the road texting or using their cellphone without a headset. Rules are rules plus you can pick out most cars that have some sort of activity going on in the car other than driving. Eating food, playing with the radio and doing your make-up are other issues that distract the driver. We can't deem everything other than driving illegal but we we do have the text and cellphone law in effect.
The 800 line process does not issue a ticket but there is a notice sent to the registered driver and from what I understand so many incidents the registered driver will be ticketed.
I have posted a 2 week poll to the upper right of my blog, do you think an 800 line should be installed?
