The crowd at Staffordshire University in Stoke-on-Trent, England, had little love for '90s rap staple Coolio , apparently. Starpulse reports the rapper dove into the crowd during a performance at the student union last Wednesday, expecting to be buoyed and carried on the hands of his adoring fans. Unfortunately, Coolio doesn't carry the same clout he did when "Gangsta's Paradise" came out (1995), and the crowd actually parted to let him fall. (Getty Images) Coolio (real name: Artis Ivey Leon Jr.) appeared in a Los Angeles court today, pleading not guilty to felony charges of drug possession, as well as misdemeanor charges of battery and possession of drug paraphernalia (reportedly a crack pipe). The charges stem from an incident this March, when the "Gansta's Paradise" ra pper was arrested at Los Angeles International airport with cocaine in his luggage . The battery charge comes from allegedly attempting to grab the luggage screener's arm before they could discover the contraband. Coolio at a public appearance in October of 2008. Crime in general is “offensive” but some crime is more offensive than others. For example, take Artis Ivey Leon Jr. and his uber-offensive behavior as of late. Oops, my bad. Rapper Coolio has pleaded guilty in Los Angeles to felony cocaine possession in a deal that requires him to spend 18 months in rehab. District attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison says the 45-year-old rapper, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey, entered his plea Friday in Superior Court. Coolio was arrested March 6 at Los Angeles International Airport. He allegedly grabbed a screener's arm to prevent a search of his luggage. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rap star Coolio pleaded guilty on Friday to possession of cocaine and will avoid jail by entering an 18-month drug rehabilitation program, a spokeswoman for prosecutors said. Coolio, who had hits in the mid-1990s with "Gangsta's Paradise" and "Fantastic Voyage," faced three years in prison if convicted of all the charges against him, said Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the L.A.
