Newly acquired wide receiver Brandon Gibson made a big splash in his first extensive action since joining the St. Louis Rams in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. Gibson had 7 catches for 93 yards and showed a full range of moves against the Saints. He was able to show enough speed to make the Saints corners play off against him and enough ability to break the tackle of the first defender to attempt to tackle him. Two P-D scribes discussing the fate and future of the St. Louis Rams. BERNIE MIKLASZ: The Rams are for sale, which is an issue, but for now it hasn’t impacted the operation. They have good harmony and stability in the front office. GM Billy Devaney and head coach Steve Spagnuolo are working well together. The St. Louis Rams are up 1 spot in Football Outsiders DVOA from last week to 29th. They scored -42.3% so far on the year, which is nowhere near good. Our offense is -19.3% which is good enough for 26th in the NFL. Our defense is 22.8%, which is good enough for 31st. Ouch. The good news comes in the form of our offensive line, which comes in ranked 13th with 4.15 adjusted line yards. The Rams are having a lot of sucess running to both right and left tackle.
