According to Wikipedia: Rae was named the number one predicted breakthrough act of 2006 in an annual BBC poll of music critics. The poll's predictions subsequently came true, as she became only the fourth female British act in history to have her first album debut at number one.

Singer Corinne Bailey Rae has revealed that she didn’t “do anything for a year” after her husband tragically died from a suspected drugs overdose. The Put Your Records On singer, 30, is now returning to the music scene after a prolonged break from the industry following the death of her husband Jason Rae, aged 31, in March 2008. Rae, who reportedly had addiction problems, died from an accidental overdose of methadone and alcohol.
