Andre Johnson Has Arthroscopic Surgery on Left Knee

By Cartman on  From texansgab.com
Wide receiver Andre Johnson won’t be a part of the Texans OTA’s and minicamp after he had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Johnson underwent the procedure two weeks ago and is focused on getting ready for the start of training camp, which for the Texans will be in late July. It’s been one injury after another for Johnson, who last season had injuries to both hamstrings. He played in just seven games during the 2011 regular season. Johnson posted career lows in receptions (33...Read Full Story

Andre Johnson had knee scoped two weeks ago

By Kevin Hanson on  From eatdrinkandsleepfootball.com
When the Texans started their organized team activities (OTAs) today, wide receiver Andre Johnson was on the sidelines. Johnson, who missed nine games last season due to his hamstrings, had arthroscopic knee surgery a couple of weeks ago. “I feel like maybe in three, four more weeks, I’ll be probably ready to go,” Johnson said, per Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com. “It’s just a process. I’m not having any issues from the other injuries I had with my hamstrings and stuff like that. I’ve...Read Full Story

Tennessee Titans and CB Cortland Finnegan Not Close in Contract Talks

By Cartman on  From nflgridirongab.com
When it comes to getting the Titans and cornerback Cortland Finnegan on the same page, it’s for sure easier said than done. Reports are the two side are far apart in talks towards an extension to keep him with the team. The two sides spoke on Friday, but no numbers were exchanged. Finnegan’s agent, Terry Watson, is seeking a contract similar to the five-year, $48.75 million contract that Johnathan Joseph received from the Houston Texans last off-season. “It is more of a wait-and-see situation...Read Full Story

Cortland Finnegan is the Cowboys top free agent target at corner

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
According to Matt Mosley of FOX Sports, the Dallas Cowboys top free agent target at cornerback is Cortland Finnegan and not Brandon Carr. I’m sure the Cowboys will heavily pursue Finnegan and if they’re unable to land him, they’ll likely move on to Carr. The Cowboys currently don’t have any salary cap space, now that the NFL took away $10 million in cap room.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up releasing cornerback Terence Newman who’s due to make $6 million in 2012. Lions might be open to bringing in Cortland Finnegan

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
According to Terry McCormick of Titan Insider, Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz didn’t directly rule out being interested in Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan as a possible free agent acquisition. While dodging questions on whether or not he’s interested in Finnegan, Schwartz did say that the Lions are focused on signing their own free agents and they “would be open” to signing outside free agents as well. I believe the Lions need a lot of help at the cornerback position and...Read Full Story

Titans will let Cortland Finnegan become a free agent

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
Despite a report from earlier today that the Tennessee Titans were going to place the franchise tag on cornerback Cortland Finnegan, ESPN’s Adam Schefter has now reported that the Titans won’t tag Finnegan and he’ll become a free agent. I’m not surprised that Finnegan won’t be tagged, because I got the feeling the Titans weren’t interested in keeping him around any longer. Finnegan is a Pro Bowl corner, that shouldn’t have a hard time finding a new home. Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZoneRead Full Story

Rams sign Cortland Finnegan to a big contract

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports.com, the St. Louis Rams have signed cornerback Cortland Finnegan to a five-year $50 million deal. Finnegan is one of the premiere corners in the NFL and jumped at the opportunity to re-join head coach Jeff Fisher in St. Louis.  Of course they’re both familiar with one another from their time in Tennessee. Finnegan Not Sure If He’ll be Back with the Titans

By Robert D. Cobb on  From profootballzone.com
Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan isn’t sure at this point whether or not he’ll be back in Nashville next season,  since his contract is up and he’ll be an unrestricted free agent in March. The Titans recently made some front office changes by promoting general manager Mike Reinfeldt to senior executive vice president and promoting Ruston Webster to general manager.  Lake Dawson has replaced Webster as vice president of player personnel. Finnegan hasn’t heard from the Titans since...Read Full Story
