Cory Lidle

Cory Lidle

Cory Lidle is a professional baseball player. He's a right-handed pitcher for the New York Yankees and wears number 30. He is managed by pitching manager Ron Guidry.

Can you imagine...

If Cory Lidle was as good as this guy to my left and landed his plane in the Hudson River...would we ever know Darrell Rasner, Jeff Karstens, Sir Sidney, IPK, Ross Ohlendorf, or even...Chase (Mr.) Wright? Would these beloved Yankee figures even get a shot at showing off their out-of-this-world stuff if Cory Lidle was taking up their place on the team as "token, doesn't really belong in the Majors, pitcher"? So as the fortunate few on the doomed U.S. Airways count their blessings, we also count our blessings that our beloved Cory Lidle wasn't as lucky. We are thankful for Cory's death, so we can meet the other fine talent that we have trotted out to the mound over the past two years.

And on behalf of the entire staff here at It Is High..., we also extend our heartfelt congrats to our dear friend Kevin Youkilis for signing a 4 years, $40 million contract extension. May he use some of that dough to take out some life insurance. The Iraqi shoe-thrower we're talking to is tuning up his accuracy as we speak.
