DENVER (Reuters) - Left winger Cory Stillman has returned to the Carolina Hurricanes from the Florida Panthers in exchange for center Ryan Carter and Carolina's fifth-round pick in the 2011 draft.
Stillman, a member of the 2006 Hurricanes team that won the Stanley Cup, played with Carolina from 2005 to 2008.
"This was a good opportunity for us to add some experience," Carolina president and general manager Jim Rutherford said in a statement on the team's website (hurricanes.nhl.com).
"Cory adds more depth to our forward lines, and we are familiar with what he is capable of doing offensively."
Stillman has played 44 games this season and scored seven goals and picked up 16 assists.
The 37-year old left wing has also skated for the Calgary Flames, St Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators and played his 1,000th NHL game on February 16 against Philadelphia.
Carolina acquired Carter from the Anaheim Ducks earlier this season and in 32 games he scored one goal and two assists for the Canes.
