This year Halloween fell on a Saturday. Usually a perfect night for Halloween festivities, the volunteers were uncertain as to if and how the usually much anticipated holiday would be celebrated in Costa Rica. It seems that Halloween has caught on slightly, depending on where one is in the country. There are no ‘trick or treating’ outings, bags full of candy or costume parades at the schools, but the volunteers were able to find some Halloween themed parties for themselves. Can't believe that it has already been a year since our trip to Costa Rica. As a group of friends, for some, the trip was a first and for the rest, it was like going home.
