Taylor Swift Sweeps Country Music Awards

Taylor Swift swept the four Country Music Awards she was nominated for Wednesday night, becoming the youngest ever winner of the CMAs Entertainer of the Year award in the process. The 19-year-old country/pop phenomenon was characteristically gracious in winning, thanking her competition for everything they've done for her.

"Every single person in that category let me open up for them this year,” she said of fellow nominees Brad Paisley, George Strait, Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney. “Thank you so much to y’all. I love you.”

The proceedings were not without reference to Taylor's recent MTV VMA win with host Brad Paisley at one point singing, "Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Kanye." He was joined by co-host Carrie Underwood and continued the parody. "Let ’em pick guitars and drive them ol’ trucks/ Cause cowboys have manners/ They don’t interrupt.”

Besides Entertainer of the Year, Taylor also won Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Fearless, and Music Video of the Year for "Love Story." The young singer looked stunned as she walked away with an armful of awards. Of course she did bring a much higher profile to the awards, which often cater to an older crowd of say twice her age.
