$15 million awaits BofA whistleblower
The man who essentially forced some of the largest banks on the planet to the $25 billion mortgage settlement, received some $15 million himself. Kyle Lagow, an appraisal manager for Countrywide Financial Corp. from 2004 to 2008, claimed the company inflated the value of homes to support bigger loans. Bank of America Corp. bought Countrywide in 2008 as mortgage defaults soared.
