Courteney Cox Deems Jennifer Aniston Less Important Than Brad Pitt (4)

Courtney Cox & Jennifer AnistonAh, the joys of backstabbing friends: not only did Courteney Cox, supposed best friend of Jennifer Aniston talk to her ex, Brad Pitt, but she decided that hanging out with the douchebag all night was the way to go.  Right, because the world definitely needs to wake up to news of Rachel having killed Monica tomorrow morning.

Mitigating the fallout that is bound to happen when this news reaches Jen is the fact that the Brad encounter was completely accidental and Courteney’s husband, David Arquette, was present as well.  The Arquettes bumped into Brad at a concert and thus the Sunday night hanging-out happened.  Page Six describes the event:

“Cox was at the Wiltern Theater in LA with husband David Arquette for the final stop on rocker Chris Cornell’s Scream album tour when Pitt showed up.  Instead of ignoring him, Courteney chatted away with Brad all night.  The three were in great spirits and seemed really happy to see each other.”

So let’s see: Courteney traded a night with a superficial, old, unfaithful-to-his-wife friend against the wrath of Jen.  Let me just say that this decision seems completely idiotic to say the least.  If she was interested in being supportive of Jen, she surely would have found another way to spend the night: everyone and their cousin is aware that Jen is not over Brad and this news is surely going to send her back to the days of calling Brad’s mom behind her ex-husband’s back.  Poor Jen.

Courteney, let me ask you an easy question: what were you thinking?  Not that I would have expected your husband to talk some reason into your aging brain, but this incident was way too easy to prevent.  Either that or you don’t care about Jen’s feelings anymore - no one would blame you, by the way, you should just make that fact clear before you subject your supposed friend to public humiliation.

Perhaps Courteney, you just wanted some publicity.  I understand: after all, it’s very difficult to remember you as anything but the third (or maybe fourth or fifth)-most-popular cast member of Friends.
