The Perfect Couples theme begins when Dave (Kyle Bornheimer) takes the dog for a walk and ends up hiking the trail with a spunky Katie Cooper (Sara Fletcher). He insists he’s married, but that doesn’t change the jealousy Julia (Christine Woods) feels when Kate Cooper leaves a “heeey” voicemail message.

So ensues all of the couples descending into jealousy anarchy, other than Rex (Hayes MacArthur) and Leigh (Olivia Munn) who have other monetary problems to face. Plus, Rex and Leigh are too evolved to worry about jealousy. “They’re just breasts,” Leigh says, clutching her husband’s face so he doesn’t look away from the girl across the way. “Look at them. Take away their power.”
The other Perfect Couples aren’t so evolved. In fact, they’re downright acting like immature junior high kids. It can be funny–”Uh, oh, consequences” Dave declares–but it can come off as over the top, too.
Dave finally experiences jealousy when Vance (David Walton) logs on to Julia’s Facebook page, and he sees her interactions with her male co-workers, like lots of LOLs.

Then there’s Amy (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) and Vance, who seem to get off on making each other jealous. Or, in Vance’s case, he tests Amy with irresistible Facebook aliases; so far, she’s always passed. That doesn’t stop her from trying to make Vance jealous. In fact, always the most over the top and the most junior high of them all, Amy flirts with a frat boy as Vance is on speakerphone. As is typical now for the Perfect Couples couple, their fight leads to a quick make up.
Before Dave and Julia make amends, though, Dave gets nine beers in and decides to crash Julia’s office party and throw down in a fight with Captain Hilarious. That doesn’t work out as well as he hoped.
