Parylene, a transparent polymer conformal coating discovered in the 1940's, is an important resource to the manufacturing industry due to its ideal barrier properties. diX parylene is the world's purest, at 99%, but different chemical variants display different properties. Parylene coating protects all kinds of products and surfaces, including ferrite, ceramic, rare earth magnets, silicone, wire, plastics, paper, glass, metal and PCBs. diX-SF works effectively at continual temperatures of 350 degrees Celsius, sporadic temperatures of 450 degrees, and also resists discolouration and offers excellent UV protection. Parylene products have low dielectric constants and dissipation factors, and because diX is deposited as a vapour, it follows the product's contours and does not pool. Conformal coatings also act as moisture barriers that protect from moisture-related failures.
