The Downs of Coming Home

Hey,

So I've been home for five days now and IT SUCKS. But I don't mention that to my mom because then she feels hurt but I just want to be back at Iowa with my friends. I had a bunch of things going on in Iowa, whether it be getting up before morning stretch started, going to class, writing critiques, and hanging out with these totally rad people in The Haunted Bookshop.

But now, I'm chilling like a villian at home. With no one but my cats, the Internet, and some chores. Of course, I missed Damien and Demetri dearly and it's nice to see them again but I miss my friends too.

I'm not excited to start school August 8. The only upside really is getting to see my teachers and the fact that it's my last year of high school. I've been waiting since freshman year to finally be done with high school and now I'm ten months away from graduation.

Now's the time when I'm really considering (DUN DUN DUN) the future. After going to Iowa, I can't wait until college even more so then before. My mom wants me to stay at home and go to community college and then transfer to a four-year school (preferably in California) after two years. It's sensible and it's to save money.

However, I really just want to leave and go to either the Midwest or the East Coast. I've been looking up dozens of scholarships on fastwebs.com, findtuition.com and scholarships.com. Do you know of any other scholarships? Or maybe scholarships for writers?
