The seventh series of Strictly Come Dancing commenced on BBC One on 18 September 2009. Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly returned as presenters together with Craig Revel Horwood, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli as judges. Series 5 winner, Alesha Dixon, joined the judging panel, replacing Arlene Phillips. Darcey Bussell was a guest judge from the quarter final onwards. The Strictly Come Dancing Live show is broadcast from a specially constructed set at the BBC Television Centre. However, in the first two series, Strictly Come Dancing Live shows were also filmed at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, where the original Come Dancing series was filmed in the 1970s. In the second series, two shows were filmed at the Tower Ballroom, show five and the Grand Final which was broadcast live on 11 December 2004. John Sergeant has quit 'Strictly Come Dancing'. The former journalist - who has been nicknamed 'The Dancing Pig' following his shambolic performances on the TV talent show - has decided to take himself out of the competition , after judges accused viewers of voting on who they favorite rather than the best dancer on the BBC programme.
