Sandy asks…
I would like to know my husband’s credit report history. I always asked him to hand me his credit report history but he doesn’t want to even if I insist. I know he is hiding something there. What website can I visit to view my husband’s credit history for free.
I went already to www.annualcreditreport.com; but now they want you to call for security purposes and of course I don’t have a male voice so they will know that I’m not the person.
Now I went to the websites of Transunion, Equifax, Experian and all of them require for you to call first. Also, there are some websites that offer free reports but they need a credit card for a 30 day trial, but you have to call to stop the trial day. Do you know other websites that offer free credit report history.

That’s his bussiness and there are privacy laws that protect his right for privacy.

For criminal history and full background checks you can visit Inteligator.
As for free credit report the only authorized source endorsed by the government is:
http://www.annualcreditreport.com
You can verify that on the Federal Trade Commission webpage:
http://www.ftc.gov/freereports
Every other site is a scam trying to make money selling you something you’re entitled for free. Those sites that scam (and spam yahoo answers) shouldn’t be trusted and you could possibly expose yourself and your computer to viruses, trojan horses, data corruption, and identity theft.
AnnualCreditReport was created by the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies – Equifax, Experian and TransUnion – to comply with government regulations allowing consumers to obtain their free credit reports from those three agencies.
Unlike scam companies, you don’t have to sign up for something and then remember to cancel since you’re not signing up for anything.
Everyone is entitled to one free credit report from each of the reporting agencies per year. It’s free. No fees or membership of any kind at all. If anyone asks for any kind of payment for anything to do with credit reports then they’re frauds.
FRAUD ALERT:
FreeCreditReports.com is a scam. You only get the “free” report after enrolling in a $15-a-month credit monitoring program.

Plus any sites NOT mentioned on http://www.ftc.gov/freereports are PAY services you should watch out for. They spam the credit related questions on Yahoo Answers. That’s pretty sad and dishonest, and if they have that much time you know they’re not doing good business. They will automatically charge your credit if you do not cancel their service, so BUYER BEWARE!!!

I am needing to see what is all on my credit history. Thanks

www.annualcreditreport.com.

Mandy asks…
I do pay nearly $15 a month to have my credit monitored and my credit history readily available for me on freecredithistory.com but I was wondering, if I go online and check my history once a month or so, will that worsen my credit?

No, it won’t worsen your score…and you don’t need to check it more than once a year (free once annually) unless you suspect you are/have been a victim of identity theft. If you are paying $15/month to see your credit score that is $180/yr that you could have spent toward paying off debt.
