Who wouldn't want to go back in time and change things for the better? With '80s icon John Cusack leading the pack, 'Hot Tub Time Machine,' is a very funny, outrageously riot of good entertainment.
Directed by Steve Pink and co-starring Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Crispin Glover, memories will be remembered and forgotten after and a laugh out loud experience at the theater.
The film follows a quartet of guys who are utterly bored and frustrated with how their lives turned out. Adam (played by Cusack) just got divorced and has his nephew Jacob (played by Duke) eating up his couch playing video games all day long. Best bud Lou (played by Corddry) is constantly partying and drunk without a care in the world, and Nick (played by Robinson) can't do anything without the approval of his wife. It's as if she has an invisible leash on him. When the guys, with Jacob tagging along for the ride, get together at a ski resort where they had a blast in the good old days, little did they know that a freak accident in the suite's hot tub would literally transport them back to the 80s, circa 1986.

Everything from leg warmers, Adidas sneakers, the Michael Jackson red jacket, black skinny tie, 'Miami Vice' white blazer and shades and more are on display as the guys are besides themselves trying to figure out what's happening and how do they get back to the present. For some of them, it's a chance to correct some mistakes they regretted. For others, playing with the past could be dangerous, but for the moment, they rather have some fun knowing what the future will be.
As crazy as the title sounds, 'Hot Tub' is actually fun ride, especially if you happened to be around in that time period and remembered the fads and culture that were blazing through America. The movie's catalyst is Cusack. Who better to sell the film than the guy who starred in plenty of 80s cult classics like 'Say Anything,' and 'Better Off Dead.' To add more spice, we have a Crispin Glover sighting. From being George McFly of 'Back to the Future' to co-starring with Johnny Depp in 'Alice in Wonderland' to this, the guy doesn't seem like he's aged at all.
Clark may be the neophyte in this group of nostalgia and comedians, but he holds his own weight. This is Corddry's breakout role. If you didn't catch him when he was on the 'Daily Show,' then here's your chance to see him act out like he's auditioning to be the next Jim Carrey. He's got the chops to entertain you all night long. Last but not least, Robinson keeps it real, and gets high marks when he belts his version of Rick Springfield's 'Jessie Girl.'
At times, certain scenes are over the top which may have some saying "enough is enough," but if you're in the mood for some fun and memories, then 'Hot Tub' is a joy ride to escape to. Just remember that once you leave the theater, it's back to reality.
