As Obama tours Europe holding unprecedented town hall forums; one has to wonder. This is definitely change - like none we've ever seen. Similar to a debutant being presented; Obama stepped onto the global scene with a charismatic style that is his forte`. Obama won a fanfare of support from the Europeans and he seemed eager to adopt this constituent as his very own, unveiling his introduction with doting rhetoric of a kinder, gentler administration than in the past. Apologetic of past US offenses in previous foriegn policy; his diplomacy had little to do with protecting US interests.
So what gives with Obama? He can't possibly be that naive? His steering away from the 'War on Terror' makes the US appear soft. This administration is sending a message to a hostile world that we are weak, gullible and vulnerable. It feels like we're walking on eggshells around world leaders, hoping to compromise our way to safety. It's reminisent of Chambelain caving during peace talks in the 1930s with Hitler. Evil is not reasonable. Man hasn't evolved to a new heightened civility like this administration seems to believe. These terrorists are brutal, dispicable and capable of hideous mayhem. That's why they're called terrorists, executing captives by beheading for all to see in order to excite terror.
Adding to that is a surrendering that happened in the UN economic conference giving Europe their bidding over the past 2 decades: 'a governing board set up to dictate to ALL global systemic businesses any policy they deem necessary for the well being of global objectives (subjectively established).' What in the heck did we do...surrender? I suppose that with signing onto this UN amendment; the end of our 'War on Terror' really meant surrender - to everything. He who holds the purse strings, controls everything else. Will the long arm of this body usurp our own Constitution? We've just invited socialist Europe to mandate economic controls to our US businesses, allowing them 'all up in our business'! Whatever was our President thinking? This is a disastrous outcome of his European campaign and will change our existence in ways we've not had the forsight to imagine. I think it's the death blow to capitalism, for sure. Get ready for higher taxes (but that's our patriotic duty), higher unemployment and mediocrity in the workplace. Our free enterprise fuel of motivating productivity is gone - that would be the operative word 'FREE'. Once health care experiences 'the Obama makeover'; rationed care and long waiting periods for services will change who, when and how we get health services. Why would we want Uncle Sam determining quality of life decisions over our health. Who decides and what do 'those' governing bodies think about the values of life? It's a given the inactment of progressive ideals will be regulating our lives intimately. Human natality is already on the downswing due to progressive thought. 'Reproductive education' will put an end to a 'choice' because this administration is pro abortion in the most aggressive terms. There won't be a choice. I expect that the long arm of an appointed healthcare czar will be dictating within our hospital rooms the progressive values of this administration. Think about that.
Ever wonder why our fore fathers penned the Bill of Rights? It protected individual freedom from tyrannical government - freedom our ancestors paid dearly with their blood. Certainly that's a very high price, giving us a unique privilege unlike any in the world.
Why would any American want to give away freedom? Why would we look to Socialist Europe for answers to the woes we now face? They don't have a median living that's better than ours. Please don't suggest that we can't take care of ourselves so we need a fat uncle to do it. We've prospered thus far just fine, thank you. The poor will always be with us and social welfare starts at home. The best programs are non government, oftentimes faith based organizations who have that mission statement to do it right and more cost efficiently. I just hope we aren't making bad law now due to those with influence preying on our emotions during rough times. That's exactly how bad laws get enacted - through our emotions rather than cognitive thought and experience.
I'll close with this: I've enjoyed my travel of Europe in my personal history. It's a beautiful place with a rich history I respect. But I'm an American; I love this nation and I'm proud of our heritage. It's unique and rich and colorful and the best part is - we're a free people, more so than any other place on earth. I like visiting Europe, but I wouldn't want to live there.
